Mary Thompson was born April 10, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to James and Rose Williams. As a child, she received a good Christian education at Church of God in Christ with her siblings. She was educated in the Saint Louis Public School System.
After graduating from Washingon University, Mary became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mary worked at various health institutions in St. Louis, including Director of Nursing at Kindred Hospital. For more than 30 years she enjoyed hearing, “Good Morning, Mrs. Williams,” while working as a Patient Administrator at Shriners Hospital for Children. She was a hardworking, naturally gifted artist who genuinely cared for his family and friends.
Mary and her husband, William, loved and supported each other for 47 years. Not only was he her husband and father to their beautiful daughter Carissa, but he was also her best friend. They would even finish each other's sentences and there was never a dull moment. She loved long conversations with family and friends and enjoyed her later years on the golf course in Michigan where she and William moved to be closer to Carissa and her family. She worshipped her time with her daughter and grandchildren.
On August 31st, the Lord called Mary home to join her parents and siblings, Jordan and Jeremiah. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, William, child Carissa, and two grandchildren, Hannah and Elijah.
