When you ask someone about love, they tell you about heartbreak; when you ask people about belonging, they tell you the most excruciating examples of being excluded; and when you ask people about connection, the stories they told me were about disconnection – Brene Brown
…When you ask someone about death, the stories we hear are about life.
The only truth in life is that it comes with a definitive sign-off date. No matter where we come from, and what our beliefs are, we’re joined together in this universal experience that makes us human. Going through the transformative end of life experiences of loved ones, acquaintances or even strangers is an out-of-body feeling. It urges us to think about celebrating our own lives. We’re inclined to think about boundless authenticity and an honest sense of purpose. We’re forced to reach not just those who matter, but inwards.
Does everyone want the same things that we want: good health, peace of mind, financial security, family safety, and love? We hope that this process will allow us to reflect on what is most important.
